Sulfolobus adalah genus dari mikroorganisme dalam famili Sulfolobaceae. Sulfolobus termasuk dalam domain archaea.^[1]

Spesies Sulfolobus tumbuh di mata air vulkanik dengan pertumbuhan optimal terjadi pada pH 2-3 dan suhu 75-80 °C, membuat mereka asidofili dan termofili masing-masing. Sel-sel Sulfolobus berbentuk tidak teratur dan flagelar.
