Permanent Waves adalah album studio ketujuh oleh band progressive rock asal Kanada, Rush, dirilis pada 1 Januari 1980. Album ini direkam di Le Studio, Morin Heights, Quebec, dan mixing di Trident Studios di London, Britania Raya. Permanent Waves menjadi album Rush pertama mencapai hit # 4 di AS dan sertifikasi Gold kelima band (akhirnya platinum) dalam penjualan album. Album ini juga menandai transisi yang berbeda dari album yang lama, potongan konseptual, menjadi lebih mudah diakses, gaya radio-friendly, dan akibatnya, ekspansi yang signifikan dalam penjualan band dengan hits seperti "The Spirit of Radio" dan "Freewill" cukup sering diputar di radio.
