Lionel Casson

Lionel Casson (22 Juli 1914 – 18 Juli 2009) adalah seorang klasikis, profesor emeritus di Univeristas New York,^[2] dan spesialis dalam sejarah maritim.^[3] Ia meraih gelar sarjana pada 1934 di Universitas New York, dan pada 1936 ia menjadi asisten profesor. Ia meraih gelar doktor pada 1939.^[1] Pada 2005, ia dianugerahi Archaeological Institute of America Gold Medal.^[3][4]
