Gobiodon adalah sebuah genus ikan gobi yang juga dikenal sebagai coral gobies (gobi karang) atau "clown gobies" (gobi badut—istilah yang juga dapat merujuk pada genus kerabatnya, Microgobius). Tidak seperti anggota famili Gobiidae lainnya, gobi karang tidak membuat lubang persembunyian, melainkan menghuni cabang-cabang karang Acropora atau karang keras serupa lainnya.
Secara kelompok, ikan ini berukuran kecil, sebagian besar berkisar sekitar 6 cm, dengan beberapa pengecualian. Mereka memiliki bentuk tubuh fusiform (menyerupai kumparan).
Gobiodon burdigalicus dari periode Burdigalian (Miosen) di India barat daya merupakan catatan fosil (otolit) pertama dari genus ini.[1]
